Picture Wednesday – A Festival Is Coming
Where can you have the biggest police concentration in London ever? And why?
Clue #1: it’s in an inner-city area.
Clue #2: it’s due to a popular festival.
Why is this relevant?
Let’s start backwards. It is relevant, because the amazing display of police forces is usually one of the first things that catch everybody’s eye when attending this massive street fest.
The area is Notting Hill.
The event is the Notting Hill Carnival, which is coming up in just a couple of weeks. The impressive number of attendees during the two-day event makes it a perfect place for crime to occur. To be honest, I have also seen officers turning a blind eye on some very minor offences to concentrate on the much bigger problems, and it has worked. Every year there are less and less problems.
On another note, it is nice and it makes them more human when they dance with the members of the parade.
Regarding the picture below, it is a real shame it’s been vandalised.

Went a few times – loved the vibe!
Yep! It is great. Lovely street food. Just been given some advice: ask vendors to cut opwn the meat to ensure it is cooked properly.
Food poisoning at outdoor events always adds a certain je ne sais quoi
There will be pictures, right? I look forward to them.
I will try!
