My Favourite Cool Ideas on a Hot Day
OK, so summer might be coming soon – yay! At least, we’ve been slightly reminded in London what hot days are during this week. I could barely remember that, as last year we did not even have the so-called ‘English summer’ at all.
Now, this new state of things might take a while to get used to. Finding proper summer clothes in the wardrobe and drawers to begin with – where were they? Well, this is not one of my favourite cool ideas on a hot day. Let’s leave it until I get some more time, and see if this weather actually holds for a while!
I know you are all quite cool. But, what do you normally do to keep even cooler on a hot day? This is what I do:
- Bbq!!
Yes! Barbeque and garden parties season is finally here. Well, I know that some people hold indoor barbies, ie, cooking under some sort of makeshift roof whilst the non-smokers remain inside. - Stay in the shade…
My first reaction is to keep in the shade and not to move for a long time, which is boring. So, I take walks in London parks like Hampstead Heath avoiding the sun. - Beer garden.
You can also have some non-fermented fruit juice, right? - Salad and gazpacho days.
I love eating lighter food, barbeque permitting, that is. - Reading
I find fiction is more suited than marketing stuff on a hot day. I find it a lot harder to concentrate on heavier stuff in the summer time.
It seems that for some other people, creativity increases a lot. The video below was originally shot during a hot summer day in 1969 in a Super 8 cam. Really cool, well-thought out video. Watch it if you can!
